{lazy friday}

This last week has been a major study week for Mr. so needless to say i have had a lot of time to myself to do whatever, but that just made my week drag out even more! I did however enjoy nightly work outs with my beautiful friend Emme, lots and lots of little ceasers pizza (Christian's source for energy), and this............

Nothing relaxes me more than a pool, some fruit and good music. Emme and I spent the afternoon soaking up some sun, chit chatting, then treated ourselves to Menchies (ice cream) afterwards. I love lazy Friday's!

{life lately}

First off, our tickets are booked to go home for 10 days in June and i can hardly wait! We've missed our families so much.  But life here has been great lately. Christian only has one final to go and we will be done with our first year of Med school. The time has flown by so fast. I feel it will only get faster.

Lately we have been spending a lot time with our new friends Emme and Mike.We have actually been in the same ward since we moved here almost a year ago but we are just now getting to know them. I'm pretty shy when it comes to meeting new people so it took me a while to talk to her, but one day at church a couple of months ago i promised myself i would ask Emme to hang out and I am SO glad i did! We get a long so so well and have so much in common, as so do our husbands, which makes me very happy because most people don't get Christians humor. They are like two peas in a pod and are so hilarious together. We have developed a routine of Sunday night games/chit chat on their amazing balcony with  Emmes yummy brownies; work outs after work, followed by a night swim while the boys relax and watch a "guy movie" with their cute kitty, Molly. ( Christian hates cats but LOVES LOVES LOVES Molly, she is the cutest kitty ever) Anyhow, we really enjoy each others company and are so glad we became friends. About a month ago we took a hike up to the elephant rock, and holy crap was it a hike! Everyone was exhausted except for Mike, he is like the energizer bunny. We started to wonder if he was human :)

A couple weeks ago we went shooting in the desert and i must say Emme is a natural! She had only been once before but she rocked it! Turns out we are both better shots than our husbands. Boo-Yah!

We had a lot of fun shooting with them and topped the evening off with dinner at Avilas, yum!
It has been a fun couple of months. We love these guys!

{birthday week}

I think it is safe to say that i am the luckiest girl in the world. This past week has been one the greatest by far. It was my birthday on Wednesday and needless to say i was SPOILED! More spoiled than i have ever been. My husband is always so sweet and is always doing little extra things for me followed by telling me that everyday that ends in "Y" is MY day,  but this week was especially nice. Starting on Sunday he cleaned up after every meal and did the dishes, did the laundry, and made sure everything was done before i got home from work every night so i could sit back and relax. All of this plus countless hours of studying (Superman?).

 On Wednesday morning he got up extra early to make me breakfast and give me my gifts that he was so anxious to give me. I had received a package from my mother in law on Saturday and he hid from me until Wednesday, i think this was harder for him than me because he knew what i was getting ;).So finally the time came to open my presents.........

Yup, that's right! My incredibly generous, amazing, beautiful, sweet, selfless, PERFECT mother in-law is taking me on a girls trip to Disneyland for my birthday!! I have never been, so this is extra exciting! I couldn't believe my eyes. It took me a while to register what was happening and then came the tears (of joy). Yes, i am 23, don't judge me.

As the day went on, i got more and more spoiled when i received a huge package from my Sweet, incredibly amazing, selfless, PERFECT mother! I could not ask for a better mom! I am one lucky girl.

Then came the best of them all.... My perfect husband handed me what i love most, a Massage (gift cert) and what could possibly be the sweetest love note any man has ever written to his wife. Then he took me restaurant hopping for dinner so i could have all the things i was craving that night. And just when i thought the spoiling was coming to and end he surprised me with a watch i have been wanting for a long time! Can i just say, I LOVE MY LIFE! I am so blessed to have people in my life that care so much about me. 

times like these are worth sharing :)

{home sweet home}

            This post is for my family that asked for pictures of our home 7 months ago and never got them :). It has taken me forever to get it into the shape i want it to be in. It's a small apartment but it is perfect for us!

                                                January

Christian got accepted to Texas Tech Medical School in El Paso TX. The school was one of his top picks so we were really excited to get the news!

                                              February

Christian surprised me with a trip down to El Paso so i could see how our future home and start looking for a place to live. This was so not him, so that was a highlight!

                                                                April

Christian graduated from Weber State at the top his class! I was so proud!

 May

Christian and i went on a cruise to Honduras, Belize, Cozumel Mexico and Costa Maya Mexico with our friends Ryan and JaNae. We had a blast! Wish we could go back...

The Millets now live in Novia Scotia with their adorable daughter while Ryan attends Dental School. We miss them!

June

The time came to move! We left our families and drove ourselves 16 hours to our new home. It was the ugliest drive...but we had a blast together!

We unpacked that truck all by ourselves, every last thing!

My sweet sweet mother in-law snuck a bag into our moving truck the night before we left full of goodies for us to  open every 100 miles until we reached Texas (900 mile drive). It definitely made the journey go by so much faster and funner! I don't know what we would do without her!

Christian's parents came down for his white coat ceremony.

    My family came into town for a visit over Labor Day, we had so much fun!

In October we had the chance to go to NM for the Balloon Festival and attend the temple with our friends Josh and Lexy

Sadly, i dont know where the pics went but it was a lot of fun!

December

Christians mom and dad took us on a cruise to Cabo San Lucas and Ensenada a week before Christmas. It was a much much needed break!

After the cruise was over we headed to Utah to spend a week with family. It was a much needed vacation from a vacation!

{here goes nothing}

It's that time! I have finally decided to start blogging in hopes of eventually doing away with the facebook account. I know, i'm crazy right? But it is something i should have done a very long time ago!  Christian got rid of his back in December and it seems like a better idea everyday. However, if i loose my Facebook, i loose updates with pictures of my adorable nephews. So Mandee, start a blog! Please.and.Thank you.
